World Mushroom Day is a global celebration dedicated to highlighting the mighty mushroom. This day serves to raise awareness about the taste, versatility and health potential of mushrooms and supporting the mushroom industry worldwide. On World Mushroom Day, we want to encourage all Australians to eat Mushrooms and join the fun at #worldmushroomday

Mushrooms are one of Australia’s most valuable horticultural crops, with 80% of Australian households regularly purchasing the Agaricus Bisporus variety, which are the white buttons, flat mushrooms, swiss brown and portobello mushrooms carefully grown and harvested by Australian mushroom farmers.

While mushrooms are much-loved by the community, the Australian Mushroom Growers Association (AMGA), the representative body for Australia’s 46 commercial growers, encourages Aussies to be inspired by mushrooms this World Mushroom Day. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate the versatility of mushrooms and discover delicious new recipes that highlight their
incredible flavour and nutrition.
